Before I went to see Mark Spall, I had not been inside a lift for over 30 years. My terror of using a lift was totally incapacitating - to the extent that I would have terrible nightmares about being enclosed in a lift. I had missed out on so many things because of my fear - I had never been in a tall building!

Once I had finished the sessions with Mark I went home and got straight into a lift and have been using them ever since. Its the most amazing thing I have ever encountered! If you had told me two weeks ago that I would be using lifts now I would have laughed in your face - but here I am, already booked up to go to New York and Paris where I will happily travel in the lifts to the top of the Eiffel Tower and the Empire States Building.

My life has taken on a new, exciting direction!

As a salesman working in Central London and not being able to travel on the tube my work and life was really challenging. I was certainly 10 out of 10 on the fear scale.

'I heard about Mark through a colleague. Whilst I was incredibly skeptical I was desperate to overcome a fear of flying and a growing fear of car washes and lifts. In fact I was due to fly only a couple of days after my appointment with Mark .

I would invest lots of time and energy trying to find ways to avoid flying such as wishing for bad weather so that the flight was canceled. Ironic when this was a break with my family that I really wanted.

After spending around two hours with Mark I had completely lost my fear of flying, car washes and lifts. It was amazing and really puzzling. The process is still a mystery to me – one thing I am certain of though is that I have very little fear in my life now.

Since childhood, I would go cold if confronted by large house spiders before having to beat a swift retreat. I have never been able to actually remove one from house and although I don't confront many spiders, the sight of a large, scuttling house spider (or even the thought of one) was pretty horrible.

After my treatment, I can’t say that I love them, but I was able to trap a HUGE spider under a glass and remove it from the house without too much difficulty. I no longer dread the possibility of finding one lurking in the house.

My main phobia is of bees & wasps. I can feel my heart racing and usually end up in tears. Iam also afraid of flying & dentists. I have only flown 3 times & I have to go to a special clinic when I have to have teeth extracted...
